This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit romanfink.com and demo.romanfink.com, buy a WordPress theme, use a theme license or contact us, why we collect it and what rights you have.

Who we are

romanfink.com is run by Roman Fink, an independent WordPress theme developer (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question, write to hello@romanfink.com.

What data we collect

  • Account and order data. When you buy a theme, we receive your name, e-mail address, country and order details, and we create a customer account and a license key for you.
  • Payment data. Payments are processed by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details; we never see or store your card number.
  • License and update data. When you activate a license or your WordPress site checks for theme updates, our license server (license.romanfink.com) receives the license key, the site address, the WordPress, PHP and theme versions and the IP address of the server.
  • Messages. When you write to us by e-mail or through the contact form, we receive your name, e-mail address and message.
  • Website usage. Our websites use cookies and similar technologies, see “Cookies and analytics” below.

Why we use your data

  • to deliver your order: downloads, license key, theme updates and support (performance of a contract);
  • to keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation);
  • to protect the shop and the license server from abuse and fraud (legitimate interest);
  • to send you e-mails about updates of the themes you bought and related offers (legitimate interest; you can unsubscribe at any time).

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for automated decision-making.

Emails about theme updates

If you bought a theme, we may send you e-mails about its updates and related offers. These e-mails contain a small invisible image and links that tell us whether an e-mail was opened and which link was clicked. We use this information only to understand whether our e-mails reach customers, and we do not share it with third parties. You can unsubscribe from these e-mails at any time with the link at the bottom of each e-mail.

Cookies and analytics

  • Necessary cookies keep the cart, checkout and account login working (WooCommerce, WordPress) and remember your language (Polylang).
  • Paddle loads its checkout script on our pages to process payments.
  • Google reCAPTCHA protects the contact form from spam and may collect technical data about your device and browser.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the checkout may not work.

Who receives your data

  • Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited, United Kingdom): payments, invoices and taxes;
  • our hosting provider (Fozzy): storage of the websites, the license server and e-mail;
  • Google: reCAPTCHA on the contact form.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country. In that case, the transfer is protected by the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

  • order and invoice data: as long as tax and accounting law requires;
  • account and license data: as long as your account or license exists;
  • license server logs and messages: only as long as needed for security and support;
  • if you unsubscribe from our e-mails, we keep your e-mail address on a do-not-send list.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format and withdraw your consent at any time. To use these rights, write to hello@romanfink.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country.

Data security

Our websites use encrypted HTTPS connections, the admin areas are protected, and we make regular backups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Children

Our websites are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top.
